We get to know you and your family by discussing your basic needs and routine.
We’d like to understand where you feel your child would benefit from therapy most: in-home, center-based, our therapeutic preschool, or within all environments
Get to know us. We will share with you our therapeutic approach, general info about Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), as well as the variety of therapies available at Roots Therapeutic Academy.
If you decide to proceed with further assessment and therapy with Roots, we will begin the insurance verification process and ask you to complete a family survey.
We will discuss your and your child’s needs. We ask that parents and caregivers are present at this stage as we will be asking you a variety of questions to help gauge your child’s needs.
We will establish an understanding of how we can assist you in the home with behavior, learning, and daily living skills for your child.
This is an opportunity for our team to engage with your child and gain a preliminary understanding of your child’s skills and needs.
We’ll gather copies of any relevant assessments, IEPs, and physician reports as well as information regarding your family and your child’s schedule.
Our goal is to develop a therapy schedule that provides your child the greatest opportunity for learning and success, all the while supporting your busy family.
For in-home only families, your Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will develop a comprehensive treatment plan detailing the skill areas that will be addressed during ABA sessions.
For families interested in attending Roots Therapeutic Academy for preschool or center-based therapies, your child’s therapy team will collaborate to develop a treatment plan that supports a variety of needs.
Academy families may also benefit from in-home ABA therapy, as a way to generalize skills into the home environment, and extend their child’s therapy schedule. Treatment goals will carry over into the home environment.
Roots Autism Solutions and Therapeutic Academy is able to provide families with the opportunity to benefit from a variety of therapies, in all environments, and develop a schedule that works for your child and family.
Children attending Roots Therapeutic Academy benefit from individual and group ABA, speech, occupational and social work therapies in both our therapeutic preschool and center-based services. Those same children are able to access our in-home ABA therapy.
We prioritize a schedule that helps your child grow and progress in all environments.
After we have a comprehensive understanding of the needs of your child, we will ensure that we have the right therapists for your child.
It is critical that we have individuals on your team who have the skills, experience, and qualities that match your child.
We start the team development process immediately following our initial assessment, so as to not delay the start of therapy.
We will coordinate with you and the child’s school to attend IEP meetings and provide consulting services.
We will support you, and provide you with the information you need to make informed decisions for your child in the school setting.
We will set time to assess and revise goals and schedule as needed.
We use this time to discuss your child’s progress, share team perspectives, and discuss parent training opportunities and strategies.
